12 Days of Christmas ++ 2nd favorite ship: Jason Stackhouse and Jessica Hamby
merry christmas darling, look at us.
you can watch us fall in love again.Merry Christmas Baby
Jessica felt like crying. This was the first year she’d be spending Christmas alone. No Jason, no Hoyt, no Bill, no family. Nothing but the spooky quietness of Bill’s old house. She turned and glanced at the bare tree in the living room. Too bad Bill wasn’t the Christmas type; he had next to no ornaments for the tree and barely any decorations as it was.
Jessica was miserable. She sat down on the marble steps and put her head in her hands, trying hard not to cry. While she had no regrets, she just wished she had someone to spend the holiday with.
The doorbell rang and Jessica frowned. Who in the world could that be?
She smelt him and immediately, she zipped to the door and opened it. “Jason?” she said quietly. “What are you doing here?”
Jason glanced down at the box he was holding. “I, uh…” He squeezed his eyes shut and smiled, opening them again. “Sookie’s not here, and I kinda thought maybe you’d wanna spend Christmas together? You know, if you want.”
Jessica turned her back on him, leaving the door open. She smiled to herself, and when it was out of her system, she faced him again, a solemn look replacing. “That’d be nice. Are yuo sure you want to be here?”
Jason sighed. “Jess,” he warned.
Jessica shrugged. “What? I thought you didn’t wanna see me anymore. Because of Hoyt.”
Jason put the box down on the ground. “Look, Jess. Hoyt’s my best friend in the whole world. And yeah, I care a lot about him and his feelings. You hurt him. But at the end of the day, I just…”
“What?” she questioned, her big eyes staring hopefully at him.
“I just can’t get you out of my head. I don’t know if it’s your blood or just my damn brain playin’ tricks. But I kinda figured maybe you’re supposed to be up there. And I kinda don’t want it to go away.”
Jessica was holding her breath. It was too good to be true. It had to be. “So what does this mean?”

Jason rolled over, the blanket draped conveniently over his lower region flirting with the exposure line. He glanced towards the burning fire before pulling Jessica closer to his naked body. He kissed her forehead as she nestled against his bare chest. “Wow,” he muttered as her fingers found his and laced them together.
“What?” she said, the warmth from the fireplace reddening her cheeks.
“I just never thought I’d spend a Christmas this way. With someone I care about… not in a family way.”
Jessica smiled. “This is the best Christmas gift ever.”
Jason laughed. “Good, ‘cause I didn’t really getcha anything fancy.”
Jessica rolled on top of him and brushed his cheek with the back of her hand. “I don’t need anything fancy. You being here is more than enough. Thank you for making it so I didn’t have to spend Christmas alone.”
Jason touched his finger tip to her little nose. “No problem.”
